Guangyu Cao is an assistant professor at the School of Economics, Peking University. His research interests primarily lie in the digital economy and public economics, with a special focus on China-related topics. His work has been accepted or published in leading economics journals, such as the Journal of Public Economics, the RAND Journal of Economics, and the Economic Research Journal (经济研究).
His doctoral dissertation was awarded the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation by Peking University in 2020 and was enrolled in the Contemporary Economics Doctoral Innovation Project by the National Economics Foundation in 2021. He has been the principal investigator for projects funded by the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
He obtained both his Ph.D. and bachelor degrees in Economics from the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. Before joining the School of Economics at Peking University, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center on Contemporary China, Princeton University.
